Counselling is based on a simple philosophy which assumes that every human being has a basic core that is valuable, and that they have a potential for growth, change and personal development. Counselling provides you with a framework to help you understand your personality and how it developed through childhood experiences, and so gives you a different and clearer way of seeing things.
Counselling is held in a comfortable, private and supportive environment to allow you to look at where you are now and to consider what you would like to change.
It is always confidential and never judgemental, and can help to reduce stress and anxiety and raise low self-esteem. Counselling is subsequently very effective for relationship/marital problems, loss and bereavement, alcohol or drug addiction, eating problems and emotional/behavioural issues.
Counselling helps you `move on in life`. It can help you deal with the different times and situations, so you can get in touch with your feelings, it then supports you to work through these to ultimately overcome hurt, confusion, anger or grief.
